Grilling artichokes brings out a subtle nuttiness to them and makes them super fun to eat. Microwaving saves on the prep time as well as the cleanup. Whiskey Oak Steak Seasoning makes them Smokin' Good.

 1 Artichoke
 2 tbsp Water
 2 tbsp Olive Oil
2 tbsp Whiskey Oak Steak Seasoning
1

Cut top (1/2 inch) and bottom (part starting to brown) stem off artichoke. Peel stem with vegetable peeler if desired.

2

Carefully split artichoke in half with sharp knife.

3

Place split artichoke in glass bowl with water and cover tightly with plastic wrap.

4

Microwave on high 3 minutes or until a fork easily pierces the stem.

5

Remove from bowl and use spoon (grapefruit spoon works good) to remove choke (hairy part of artichoke heart)

6

Drizzle/brush with olive oil and liberally season with Whiskey Oak Steak Seasoning.

7

Grill over high heat, turning once, until lightly charred.

8

Serve with clarified butter or (my favorite) mayo.

Don't waste the stem. If peeled it is just as tasty as the heart.
